Paloma Proudfoot 'Layfigure' at Collective, Edinburgh | Thursday 22 May, 6pm

Produced as part of Paloma Proudfoot’s exhibition 'Glass Delusion', join us for a live performance of Layfigure, choreographed and performed by Aniela Piasecka with live music composed and played by Ailie Ormston. The performance, which will take place in the City Dome Gallery, was created in dialogue with Proudfoot’s articulated mannequin sculpture of the same title. A choreographic conversation emerges between Piasecka and the ceramic double, each movement both constrained and amplified by the creaking second body. This exploration of corporeal ambivalence extends to Piasecka’s use of gaze, vacillating between inward scrutiny and external focus.
