The Red Salon is cast in a its own colour negative (green) by using a still video projection; all colour is thereby extracted from a section of the room turning the space into a black and white version of itself. At the same time, a separate halogen light source causes the room to slowly light up and darken again; the total sequence lasts 20 seconds and then is looped.
